Bacteria are beneficial in reducing odors resulting from organic wastes such as those found in dumpsters, trash compactors, and refuse containers. The bacteria break down the source of the odors, using the organic wastes as a carbon and nitrogen source. Bacteria may also be helpful in controlling odors in manure holding tanks and pits.
